I've had patients back in school have great results with it, but I would typically reserve it for those who cannot have a harder adjustment (think osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, elderly).
It will feel like nothing happened, because there isn't a heavy impulse behind it, but it is fast. In a physics explanation: F = ma, where force equals mass times acceleration. An Activator can use a faster impulse, with less weight, to get the necessary force. When someone manually adjusts you, your muscles will tense up whether you try your hardest to relax or not. The idea behind the Activator is it is so fast that it beats your natural muscle guarding. I personally love being "hands-on" with my adjusting.
